Itinerary
Your journey begins in Senaru Village, situated at an elevation of 600m above sea level, with a trek through lush tropical rainforest and stunning natural landscapes. Covering a distance of approximately 9km, the trail offers a steady, prolonged ascent with plenty of rest stops along the way. By the time you reach the Senaru Crater Rim campsite, perched at 2,641m elevation, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Segara Anak Lake, the towering Rinjani summit, and the sweeping valleys below. After settling in, enjoy a hearty dinner prepared by your porters under a star-filled sky before retiring to your tent for a well-earned rest.
Approximate Timeline:
07:30 AM – Pre-trek breakfast and briefing at Your Hotel, Senaru. Leave excess luggage in secure storage.
08:30 AM – Begin the trek from Senaru Village (600m above sea level). The trail winds through lush tropical rainforest, with towering trees and diverse flora and fauna.
10:30 AM – Arrive at Pos 1 “Pemantuan” (950m elevation). Re-hydration and snack break.
12:30 PM – Reach Pos 2 “Montong Satas” (1,500m elevation). Stop for lunch and a longer rest.
01:30 PM – Resume trekking, ascending to Pos 3 “Mondokan Lokak” (2,000m elevation).
03:30 PM – Arrive at Senaru Crater Rim campsite (2,641m elevation). Your guide and porters will set up camp, while you relax and enjoy the spectacular views of Segara Anak Lake and the surrounding valleys.
05:30 PM – Dinner served under the stars. Take time to enjoy the incredible stargazing opportunities before settling into your tent for the night.
Hydration: Staying hydrated is crucial during the steady ascent. Carry a refillable water bottle, as your guide will provide additional water at designated rest stops.
Weather Preparedness: The rainforest is humid, and sudden rain showers are possible, especially in the afternoon. Waterproof clothing and a rain cover for your backpack are highly recommended.
Trail Conditions: The path through the rainforest is well-defined but can become slippery due to damp conditions. Sturdy hiking boots with good grip are essential for safety and comfort.
Rest Stops: The trek includes several planned breaks at Pos 1, Pos 2, and Pos 3, where you can rehydrate, have snacks, and rest your legs. These stops also offer great opportunities to take photos and appreciate the natural surroundings.
Porters and Equipment: Your porters will carry the camping equipment and prepare your meals. You are responsible for carrying a daypack with your essentials, such as water, snacks, a rain jacket, and a camera.
Temperature Drop: As you ascend to Senaru Crater Rim, temperatures will drop significantly, especially after sunset. Bring warm layers, including a jacket, gloves, and a hat, to stay comfortable at camp.
Accommodation: You’ll be sleeping in shared tents equipped with comfortable sleeping mats, fresh sleeping bags, and pillows. If you prefer your own tent, let us know in advance to arrange a private setup.
Stargazing: The night sky at Senaru Crater Rim is spectacular, offering incredible stargazing opportunities. After dinner, take some time to relax and enjoy the celestial views before retiring for the night.
Wake up to a breathtaking sunrise and enjoy a leisurely breakfast overlooking Lake Segara Anak, with its serene waters and the majestic Mount Rinjani towering above. After packing up camp, you’ll begin the descent through the lush tropical rainforest, home to vibrant flora and playful monkeys. This trail winds its way down to Senaru Village, offering a peaceful and shaded journey as you leave the heights of the crater rim behind. Upon completing your trek, you’ll be welcomed back to Cafe Rinjani Dawn, where you can relax with refreshments, coffee, and snacks, and take advantage of the hot shower facilities to freshen up.

08:30 AM – Begin your descent through the tropical rainforest, where you’ll experience cool shade and tranquil surroundings.
11:30 AM – Stop for a mid-morning break at a rest stop. Rehydrate and enjoy some light snacks.
13:30 PM – Arrive in Senaru Village, marking the end of your trek. Transport will be waiting to take you to at Rinjani Climbing Tours
13:45 PM – Relax at Rinjani Climbing Tours, where you can enjoy refreshments, coffee, and snacks. Hot shower facilities are available to freshen up after your trek.
14:30 PM – Collect any stored luggage from secure storage and bid farewell to your guide and porters.
15:00 PM – Depart Senaru for your next destination. If you have a scheduled ferry, flight, or transfer, let us know in advance to ensure timely arrangements.

Descent Pace: The descent from Senaru Crater Rim to Senaru Village is steady but can be tiring due to the 2,000m elevation loss. Trekking poles are highly recommended to ease the strain on your knees and enhance stability on uneven terrain.
